A great opportunity awaits as a PHP Backend Developer where you will take a proactive role within our talented Digital Team helping to build great websites and apps for a diverse range of well-known brands.
You will take responsibility for projects and will work closely with the digital team and share your IT/digital skills.
About You

You will have solid and successful technical knowledge including modern programming skills, and have 2+ years of experience as a backend developer.
You will have a high level of communication skills and have a very keen attention to detail.
Essentials and desirables we require for the role:
Essentials:
- Proven experience of performing all technical aspects of backend web build
- Highly proficient in writing PHP and MySQL
- Experience of working with legacy PHP 5.6-8.4 and understanding its procedure code and object orientated programming
- Experience of integrating third party APIs
- Proven experience of building responsive websites and a mobile first approach
- Experience of working with frontend web developers
- Knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, Stimulus JS or similar coding languages
- Experience of working with version control systems – Git, SVN, branch operations
- Working knowledge of docker (for local development)
- Experience in designing class architecture
- In-depth knowledge of current coding techniques and best practices
- Excellent level of communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be comfortable and confident in client meetings
- A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a team
- Proactive and positive approach towards solving problems
- Experience of handling working to tight deadlines
Desirables:
- Computer science qualification (degree or equivalent)
- Good working knowledge of .NET (Visual Studio, C#) and Umbraco
- Advanced knowledge of Git (PR, actions, security)
- Good understanding of UX/UI designs and techniques
- Good working knowledge of app development for iOS and Android
- Knowledge of SEO, form tracking and split test approaches
- Experience with Symfony or similar PHP framework
- Experience in setting up CI/CD pipelines (Continuous integration/Continuous Development [Allows deployment from repo, removes need to ftp files])
- Good working knowledge of developer operations (dev-ops)
- Experience in AI Agent/MCP integration

Working Hours : Monday-Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm (1 hour for lunch).
